A long drive is a brief I haven't built a playlist for, because every drive is different in ways a playlist can't hold. But there are still rules.

The music has to hold a steady mood for the length of the drive. Anything that swings hard one way pulls focus off the road. Anything that demands attention is dangerous. Anything that puts you to sleep is worse.

No lyrics you have to listen to. Lyrics you can ignore are fine — those are different. Familiarity helps; the drive is the foreground, not the soundtrack.

If I had to pick from the existing rooms, I'd run lo-fi for the first hour, focus for the next two, then back to lo-fi as it gets dark. Wellness is too still. Sleep is, well, sleep. Reading wants a room that isn't moving. None of them are quite right, which is probably why there isn't a 'drive' room on the site yet.
